Tribestan

Description

Tribestan is a drug of  natural origin obtained from the aboveground part of the Tribulus terrestris. It contains steroidal saponins of the furostanol type, among which protodioscin prevails.

Protodioscin is metabolized in the body to dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), which has a beneficial effect on cell membrane permeability, erectile function, cholesterol metabolism and immunity. Other active furostanol saponins of the Tribulus terrestris  seem to have similar effect of protodioscin.

Tribestan has a tonic effect and stimulates some functions of the reproductive system. In men, it restores and improves libido and erection. It has stimulating effect on spermatogenesis, increasing the number of sperm and their motility, increases testosterone levels. In women, Tribestan also improves libido, stimulates ovulation. It has beneficial effect on vasomotor manifestations in natural and post-castration climacteric syndrome as a result of its balancing effect on hormonal activity.

The results in healthy volunteers show that Tribestan affects the level of hormones of the pituitary-gonadal axis in the blood plasma, without significantly altering the levels of adrenal hormones and ACTH.

Tribestan has a hypolipidemic effect, and in patients with dyslipoproteinemia it significantly reduces total cholesterol and LDL, without affecting the levels of  HDL in blood plasma.

Tribestan has antihypertensive and diuretic effects.

Indications

For the prevention and treatment  of disorders of the reproductive system in men and women.

For treatment of erectile dysfunction in men, it enhances libido, strength and duration of erection.

For treatment of infertility in men.

Women with climacteric and post-castration syndrome and endocrine ovarian infertility. In case of violation of fat metabolism (dyslipoproteinemia) to reduce total cholesterol and LDL.

How to use Tribestan

The tablets are taken orally after meals.

With a decrease in libido, impotence and infertility. In men with reduced libido, impotence and infertility, a dosage of 1-2 tablets 3 times a day is recommended. The duration of treatment is at least 90 days. The course of treatment can be repeated until a positive therapeutic effect is obtained.

In women with endocrine infertility, a dosage of 1-2 tablets 3 times a day from the 1st to the 12th day of the menstrual cycle is recommended. This course can be repeated periodically until pregnancy.

Dyslipoproteinemia. 2 tablets 3 times a day. The duration of treatment is at least 3 months.

Menopause and post-castration syndrome in women. 1-2 tablets 3 times a day for 60-90 days. After improving the condition, they gradually switch to a maintenance dose – 2 tablets per day for 1-2 years.
